CHURCH ON THE MOON

Me, I’m all alone but i don’t want to be on my own

you had 12 disciples that you called your own

now you’re calling me to make even more.

While the churches are asking for money

you are asking me to live for your kingdom.

Joseph, Job, Jeremiah they are all great people in the bible

me, i struggle to even read the bible.

Is the world truly lost?

love is now a new religion

for those who think they are spiritual.

They rebel against organized religion

not realizing Jesus was crucified for starting the ‘true’ rebellion.

He laid down his life to prove his love for us.

My sins too heavy to bear without a cross,

this is where i lay it down.

If you are heaven bound

you don’t have to follow the crowd.

The things of this world are just an illusion

I pray and fast so i won’t perish for a lack of vision.

The nights i struggle with lust my spirit needs to fast,

the temptation is too much for me to overcome on my own

especially since i’m away from home.

Lord, how can I master the flesh and save my soul?

When there’s no one i can trust

you remind me you are with me

to fight my battles,

your power rattles all my enemies.

Those who’ve met me might not understand me

Even A ‘Gangsta’ Needs That Jesus Love

Teachers and preachers teach us the things that set us free..

[At work i have the opportunity to share the truth with the kids i get to see

but sometimes i wonder is God even really into me

and then i remember to take time to talk to Him

so His love can be seen even through me

its like for most of these kids that i see  at work feel abandoned and all alone

without a home to call their own

they take some things for granted

but maybe its because society has taken them for granted too

they deserve our attention

and i hope they have it to the full

when i see them listen to that christian cd i made for them

or read that christian book

i realize just how deep God's love truly is

for even a 'Gangsta' needs that Jesus love]

God Help me to stop trippin’ and wonderin’ if Jesus is even really with me

as i seek for dudes who have also been through it

to share my brokenness feelings of hopelessness

for without Truth I’m driven back to sin.

Sin is spreading and the world is getting colder

Man I really hungered and had this inner thirst

Absurd the thought of me even missin’ a day of church

Man it felt like heaven, especially Bible study

I had my Bible pen and pad sittin’ next to my buddies

The Word had us open especially certain verses

Spendin’ hours in worship man it just felt so perfect

And then after the service out on the parking lot

Laughin’ and rappin’ for hours afterwards we talked a lot

Felt like your second family for me felt like my first…
